So I have not done one these in quite some time so I thought I would draw one up.  So I am supposed to blog my feelings and such…OK so here goes…I have decided in my quest to lose weight to up the work outs and increase my calories in an attempt to increase my metabolism.  Last week I worked out 9 times (3 days in which I rocked it twice) and added a 100 cal pack of almonds, small serving of chicken or tuna salad and a regular 100 cal pack on my way to the train in the morning so that is an additional 300-350 calories daily…last week with the upped exercise and increased calories I happen to lose 5 lbs thus making me the MVP of my weight loss team.  This week I have both my weigh in’s for my competition and the one on this site and I am hoping to rock another 2-3 lbs…Let’s see what else is new in this so-called life.  I learned carrying a credit card balance sucks…I had to carry a balance for the first time in my life…All I did was carry about $500 over and I was charged $45 in finance charges…what a crock of shit that is…So we will not be doing that again…

For the rest of the week I will be working out in the morning and then after work and then waking up Saturday night after the damn dog needs to be walked and I will get ‘er done in the morning and rock some more weight loss…My goal is under 300 by May 15…It will be tough but I am going to give it my best…

I played cards this past weekend and I won $70, so that was fun…I am no longer going to say when I am playing cause I learned that if I say somethign then I will lose and losing sucks ass…

So that is all from my life…Good luck and keep exercising world!!!

Interesting Week

So the weekend started good, went to the gym and was able to record a 5 lb. loss for the week.  That night I figured I did good and my wife was in the mood for chinese so that is what I had and the restaurant that we tried was by far the best in Northern VA.  Anyone from NY knows it is hard to find chinese outside of NY and this place was good.

Anyways, so then it was Sunday and was going to take that as my day off since I had gone to the gym 6X the week prior and then I got paired with the captain of the hot rods (weight loss competition on this site for those of you not familiar with it) and she wanted us to post 10 lbs between us so that made me get to the gym last on Sunday to to tell myself I gave it my all.

I had told myself that I was going to take either Sunday or Monday off and since I went Sunday I took Monday off since I thought I was getting fired at work for some dumb bullshit (but isn’t it always) so I got home and drowned my fears in food and made some homemade manicotti.  Needless to say I didn’t go to the gym though I should have to work off the frustration.  Quite tasty but my body quickly revolted against it.

Then came Tuesday and it was a nice day out so I went on a walk with my wife and the dog for about 2.3 miles.

That brings us to Wednesday, when I had my interview.  I answered all his questions good and I asked alot myself but he seemed rushed during the whole thing.  Maybe they saw how young I look (Sorry to the females out there) and my buzzed head and they draw stereotypical conclusions from that.  It only lasted 28 minutes but whatever then I came home and went to the gym and burned like 1100 calories and then I told my wife when she got home from work I wanted to go again so I went again and burned another 750 calories or so.  My legs were spent on the 2nd go round.  Not smart to go twice in a 4 hour timeframe.

Then came yesterday and I had to get to the gym for my first weigh in of my competition that I run.  I had gained 1 lb from the beginning of the week but I did lost 4.4% of my weight since January 7th so I guess that is good but that is only good enough for 4th in the competition, currently one spot out of the money.  I then find out that when I go to FL in 2 weeks my in laws have a restaurant picked out for every night we are there.  Are you kidding me??? I guess that just means since there are no activities planned that I will be working outside or wherever I can find.  I will bring my exercise ball and run/walk in the trails.  On a good note, found out last night that they are installing my exercise equipment (Cadillac of ellipticals, the brand is Octane in case you are wondering and a treadmill).  Needless to say I am pretty excited that I won’t have to ever go to my gym again.

Tonight I have dinner reservations and they are late so I have to get to gym first off to maybe loss 1 lb this week for this competition.  We can’t let those kittens, I mean wild cats win…That is about it from me this week.  Take care, have a safe weekend and it pains me to say this but Go Giants…I hate Bellichek and I hate Eli Manning so I guess originally being from NY I should root for the Giants.

I beat the cold weather

Mother Nature tried to beat me yesterday with a high of 35 and wind chills in the 20’s but I think I came out on top.

So yesterday I was invited to join the Hot-Rods in a weight loss competition.  They could have not made a better choice.  I am competitive as hell, I will wager on everything.  I try to make bets on football games I know nothing about, I play cards on the weekends and I have bowled for money.

The good news didn’t stop there but I had applied for my first job in over a year.  I am looking to move into management and I applied for a Loan Manager job at another institution and I was called the next day with an interview.  Then I got home and I was so excited about all the good things that happened to me today that I got the dog and went on a 4.6 mile walk with the poor thing in the 30 degree weather.  I couldn’t feel my right hand afterwards but it was well worth.  I think I had around a 700 calorie deficit yesterday so that was good.  I got my proteins up by eating chicken which I am trying to do moreso.

Tomorrow I was given the OK to get my weights for the Hot-Rods and you better believe that I am going to be hitting the gym hard.  My personal trainer co-worker told me to just go for it on the treadmill and rock at least 4.0…(maybe some of you are already doing that but not me).  I will mix in the elliptical and stay longer then I normally do…Last Chance work out for me.

Again, that is all from Northern VA.  So like I said I think I came out on top of Mother Nature.  If I don’t drop another post until Sunday when I get back from vacation, enjoy your vacation and Martin Luther King Jr. day for those of you who get that off…

Worst day so far

So yesterday started good as I had every intention to make it to the gym.  But then I fell asleep on the train ride home and when I woke up my legs were spent.  But then I told myself that I would walk with the dog, only thing about that was it was too cold or at least too cold for VA standards.  So then for the “beginning” of my dinner I had 1/2 of my homemade enchiladas from the night before which couldn’t be more then 200 calories then I had a salad with canned turkey on it then comes the fun part, one 100 cal pack, 1 serving of trail mix and then sitting in front the TV watching Prison Break I had vegetable crisps.  That wouldn’t be so bad had I not had the bag in front of me but I munched on them for like 15-20 minutes. The only downfall to that is for the next 2 nights, I don’t have a car since my wife has to work late.  I have to try to walk with the dog later but it will be in the 30’s and my dog is no snow dog and keeping her out there for 2 1/2 miles might not be a good idea but I need to figure something out.

That’s it from Northern VA, hope everyone else has a better day then I did.

Did good in everything but cards

So yesterday the 11th was a good day overall.  For the first time in ages, me and the wife cooked at home on a Friday rather then going out.  That was a good meal and I did force myself to get to the gym prior to eating since I don’t like to go late at night.  Then my debacle playing cards.  It was a good crowd, 19 people and I finished 10th but way out of the money.  On another good note since it was a good day for calories, I finished the day drinking 10 bottles of water.  That was the most by far that I have drank in a long time.  Needless to say I was like an old man where I was in the bathroom every 45 minutes.

I went to the gym again this morning and I got on a scale which I told myself I was not going to do until the 31st.  The reason for that being is that I am running a “Biggest Loser” competition and that would be the first weigh in.  To my surprise I had lost 10 lbs. this week so far.  I guess using the calorie counter and getting to the gym work really good side by side. I made egg whites in the morning with turkey bacon and toast (total 295 calories) and then went to Subway since I see these jackasses on Biggest Loser go to and it is nice knowing how much I take in.  Lastly I went to a restaurant for the first time since starting on Monday on watched the other 10 people at the table enjoy ice cream, calamari and pretzels while I dined on 4 glasses of water and a cobb salad with vinegrette dressing.  So since I don’t know how much was in the salad I could have not possible been above 1600 calories for the day so another good day.

I hope everyone else had a good day and I will post again come Monday.

Back to the Gym

Well I had about a 700 calorie deficit yesterday which was my best by far since I have started this journey.  I drank about 105 ozs of water.  I was able to get back to the gym where I rocked about 850 calories on the treadmill and ellipitical.  So I am happy about that.  Thursday was the best day overall including drinking water, exercising and calories, the only thing I could have done was go out with the dog for a couple miles but it was raining and she is not to fond of the rain.  Today is poker night so I just need to stick to bottles of water throughout the whole night.  But that is about it on my side.  Everyone enjoy your weekend

Today was my first day off from physical exercise…Prior to getting home from work I had only had 700 calories and then had a BBQ chicken salad with low fat ranch and fruit salad afterwards.  I will be back at the gym tomorrow so that is good and I will probably go for a run with the dog after the gym…So it was a good day even though no physical exercise
